How can fifty years be concentrated in two hours? Maria Farantouri first appeared on stage in 1963 and since then she has sung many composers, poets and lyricists. Priestess of Mikis Theodorakis right from her first appearance, soon muse of Manos Hadjidakis and, later, a source of inspiration for foreign composers, such as the jazz legend Charles Lloyd – literally, an incomparable persona of the song and the stage.

On September 17, 2013, at the foothills of Acropolis, Herod’s Atticus Odeon, Maria sang a compilation from her entire repertoire, songs that are still alive as reference points of the high creation and aesthetics of Greek composers and poets, but also foreign creators.

The inspired orchestrations of pianist Takis Farazis serve the spirit of the songs, in some of which Dionysis Savvopoulos, Elli Paspala, Savina Giannatou and the young Helen Kartelia collaborate.
