Maria Farantouri’s presence in Germany and her friendship with the German public and German musicians and concert organizers go back at least six decades. Tim Günther is a leading musician of the western church music and as the director of the Choir Bremer Kantorei St. Stephani has organized many concerts with works by Mikis Theodorakis (Axion Esti, Canto General etc.) and Maria Farantouri performing. In this case, the high priestess of Theodorakis’s music will perform songs from the cycles Lipotactes, Arcadia IV, Cyclades Minor, Farantouri Cycle, Lyrikotera, Epitaphios, Axion Esti, The 18 Little Songs of the Bitter Motherland, Serenades, Odyssey etc.
