With some of the most famous and favorite songs of Mikis Theodorakis, Maria Farantouri appears in one of the most emblematic concert venues internationally, transferring to the heart of the American big city the sounds of Greece and the great Greek composer. A seven-piece ensemble accompany the Greek singer performing with her a very special programme, orchestrated with sensitivity and inspiration by Achilles Wastor. Evey Simon conducts the choir of the Archdiocesan Cathedral of the Holy Trinity and Gail Holst Warhaft reads selected lyrics from the songs.
