During a three-day event (May 8-10), the city of Bochum commemorates the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II. In this context, Maria Farantouri sings the Ballad of Mauthausen by Mikis Theodorakis set to poetry by Iakovos Kambanellis. The performer is accompanied by the pianist Henning Schmiedt.

A multifaceted program with concerts, readings, discussions, visits to historical sites of memory asks the audience to think on the dangers of old and new fascism and the challenges for the democratic future of humanity.
