Maria Farantouri: She blew… songs at Herodeion – Yorgos D.K. Sariyannis

The article is a review of the concert of M. Farantouri at Herod’s Atticus Odeon, in Athens, in 28.07.2001.

Maria Farantouri, despite the heat, despite the ‘Saturday of the great Escape’, managed to almost fill Herodeion. The applause, both in all the songs and at the end, was extremely warm. For everyone but, above all, for Maria Farantouri, who with her broad, big, contralto -cello- voice and with her ethos wrote history, enjoying now its fruits.
