Maria Farantouri in Concert – Reference to Kiki Demoula

Maria Farantouri performs selected poems by Kiki Demoula set to music by Sakis Papademetriou, as well as songs from her wide repertoire. She is accompanied by the pianist Achilleas Wastor.

The concert marks the opening of the 9th International Student Literature Conference on Kiki Demoula organized by the Zographeion Lyceum and the E. Mantoulidis Schools under the auspices of the Oecumenical Patriarchate. Students, academics and writers discuss, analyse and approach the poetic work of Kiki Demoula through its themes and linguistic identity.

In addition to the concert by Maria Farantouri, the following events will take place within the framework of the conference: a performance of words, images and music with the actress Olia Lazaridou, a workshop of poetic and theatrical experiments for teenagers focusing on the poetry of Kiki Demoula, as well as guided tours of Hagia Sophia, Halki and Prigipos Island.
