The contemporary composer, famous Lena Platonos, and Maria Farantouri, the iconic voice of the Greek poets and composers, come together at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus for a single, a signature evening!
This exceptional performance unfolds as a sweeping artistic journey through time, myth, and contemporary creation:
• The Poetesses of the Ancient World, celebrating nature, peace, womanhood, and love (texts and adaptations by Thanos Tsaknakis).
• The Fates, the second work by Lena Platonos, created especially for this year’s Athens Epidaurus Festival and the selected performances at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, that brings to the forefront the Platonic concept of the soul’s immortality. The composition is written for the gifted international flute soloist Stathis Karapanos and the iconic voice of Maria Farantouri. (texts and adaptations by Thanos Tsaknakis).
• The legendary Sabotage, presented in a bold new transcription for flute.
• The captivating New People (lyrics by Nikos Moraitis).
