A special concert in honour of the composer on the 100th anniversary of his birth. Maria Farantouri, an outstanding interpreter of his works, mesmerises audiences with her powerful and sensitive voice. To this day, she is THE Greek interpreter of Theodorakis. Her concerts are now more than ever a sign that Theodorakis’ music is timeless and unforgettable. When Maria sings, the composer is always present. This concert is an opportunity to honour the deep connection between Theodorakis and Farantouri and celebrate their importance for Greek musical culture. Farantouri, together with her first-class instrumentalists, will perform songs from all phases of Mikis Theodorakis’s work, including the famous Mauthausen cycle.
